Invercargill’s most central holiday park is the Central City Camping Park, located just 650 metres from the central business district. Travellers headed north to Queenstown or west to Fiordland National Park will be interested in staying at the comfortable Invercargill TOP 10 Holiday Park, located just north of the city along State Highway 6. For day visits, there are a number of two-hour free parking spots downtown, such as on Esk Street. If you need to leave your car for an extended period, parking at the Invercargill Airport starts at $16 a day, but drops to $5 a day on the fifth day of your car’s stay. Whether you spend some nights downtown or in the surrounding area, you’ll notice that Invercargill is a particularly navigable city. State Highways 1 from Dunedin and 6 from Queenstown intersect in downtown Invercargill. To follow the Southern Scenic Route west to Fiordland from city centre, head north along State Highway 6 to its intersection with westward-bound State Highway 99. Travellers headed north along State Highway 6 can stock their refrigerators or chilly boxes at numerous Countdown supermarkets; there are also a Pak’n Save and a Countdown in the heart of the city on State Highway 1.
What our SHAREaCAMPER community says
"Since we are very busy in our jobs, the camper used to sit in our driveway for long period of time and noone used it. So we had the idea to give other camping lovers the option to try and go away for a trip with a motorhome for an affordable price. We are happy with the platform, we feel supported well and our concerns are taken seriously."
"I rent out my motorhome because I don't want to have it sit in my driveway without being driven. Being in touch with the travellers is a great experience that I enjoy a lot."
"Thank you for inviting us to join SHAREaCAMPER NZ. It is great for owners of Camper Vans, Motorhomes, and Caravans, in New Zealand to share them with the people of the world, when they are not being used, so that they to may experience while they are on holiday in New Zealand, the travelling to beautiful places, and sites of New Zealand."
"Without SHAREaCAMPER we wouldn't have bought our camper! The customer support is professional and we have met many nice people, some of which even came back to hire our Dreamer a second time."
